The true story of Irena Sendler and a group of young Polish women who risked their lives to save Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto. In the film, for the first time ninety-five-year-old Irena tells on camera the story that remained unspoken for many years after the war. The film also features a group of her colleagues and Holocaust children saved by them, as well as social workers and historians, among them, prof. Wladyslaw Bartoszewski.
In 1965 Irena Sendler was awarded the title of “Righteous among the Nations” for her wartime activities. In 2007 she was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. She passed away peacefully at her home in Warsaw on May 12, 2008 at the age of 98.

La verdadera historia de Irena Sendler y su grupo de jóvenes colaboradoras, quienes arriesgaron sus vidas para salvar a niños judíos en el ghetto de Varsovia. En la cinta Irena de 95 años de edad cuenta su historia, la cual mantuvo en secreto varios años después de la guerra. En el documental participan varias colaboradoras de Irena, los niños sobrevivientes, así como también los trabajadores soviales e historiadores, el profesor Wladyslaw Bartoszewski, entre ellos.
En 1965 Irena Sendler recibió el título de “Justa entre Naciones” por su esfuerzo por savar a los judíos durante la guerra. También en 2007 fue nominada al Premio Nobel de la Paz. Irena murió en 2008 en Varsovia, a la eded de 98 años.
