Description
KARSKI & THE LORDS OF HUMANITY re-creates and dramatizes one man;s death-defying mission to awaken the conscience of world leaders – “the lords of humanity”, as he would later call them. Newsweek named Jan Karski (1914-2000) one of the most outstanding personalities of his era, calling his wartime mission one of the moral milestones of 20th-century civilization.
Using a groundbreaking technique that combines archival footage with animated sequences, Emmy-winning filmmaker Slawomir Grünberg tells the story of Karski, the Polish underground courier who traveled across occupied Europe, infiltrating the Warsaw Ghetto and a Nazi transit camp to deliver eyewitness accounts of the unfolding Holocaust to the Allied powers. Among the archival materials are never-before-seen interviews with Karski conducted by E.Thomas Wood, co-author of “Karski: How One Man Tried to Stop the Holocaust”.
